A Fan's Thank You to DJ Moore
/Losing DJ Moore to the Chicago Bears has been challenging. It’s rare, however, for great football players to play their entire career for a single season. Many of my favorite Panthers players dawned another team’s jersey at some point in their career. Julius Peppers, coincidentally, left the Bears and then the Packers. Steve Smith finished playing in Baltimore, and Cam Newton went to New England. DJ Moore joins the list of fan-favorites who have to say goodbye to, at least for now.
Here’s a quick thank you before you go, DJ:
Thank you for the greatest regular season catch in Panthers’ history. This 57-yard Hail Mary from PJ to DJ arguably is the greatest catch in team history. Catches like Steve Smith’s wild card walk-off touchdown in double overtime of the NFC Championship probably holds the title because of the circumstances of the moment. DJ may have tied the game with seconds left, but a costly penalty followed when he took his helmet off while celebrating the moment.
PJ Walker finds DJ Moore on a last-ditch effort deep down field for a touchdown: but Moore is flagged for excessive celebration, creating a long MISSED extra point to keep the #Panthers and #Falcons tied at 34 pic.twitter.com/LWnohRV3xr

Thank you for 3-1000 yard seasons in spite of Kyle Allen, Teddy Bridgewater, and Sam Darnold and friends. DJ’s productivity is pretty incredible, given the revolving door of mediocre quarterbacks in Carolina.
Thank you for mediating fan disputes!
Two fans at Panthers fan fest looked like they were about to get into a fight…and then Panthers star WR DJ Moore steps in and calms the situation down to break things up.

Thank you for being better than Calvin Ridley! The Panthers had their choice between Moore and Ridley, and they chose more yards! Ridley may have more touchdowns, but he’s also coming off of a year suspension.

Teaching Robbie Anderson about the team mascot! What’s dat Bear doing? That’s a Sir Purr, DJ said. Well, now Anderson isn’t with a team and DJ is dat bear!
"What's that bear doing?"

Robby Anderson being introduced to Panthers mascot Sir Purr is too much 😂

Thank you for being a bright spot in the midst of darkness. You may be part of the actual light at the end of the tunnel. DJ came to play every week, but having a receiver with a quarterback sadly doesn’t matter. Hopefully we will be thankful that DJ was part of the reason that we found that quarterback.
Thanks DJ…..go play that funky music in Chi-town!
