So there really are two choices for the Panthers at LT: Sign a veteran Free Agent this off-season or draft one early this May. There are a few Free Agent Left Tackles but they one I would want is King Dunlap out of San Diego. Dude is a monster at 6'9 322 lbs. And he's good too, as he only gave up three sacks in 645 pass plays in 2014. But, he will cost more that the Dollar Store and do the Panthers want to spend that much on one guy? I bet he commands $7M or so. Though good, he's only played one full season without missing time so I don't see the $10M contract.
The other option is to put your trust in a rookie. The Falcons found out how rough that is as their rookie last year (Jake Matthews) ranked dead last in the league after being picked fifth overall. That is the Falcons fifth pick did worse than our Byron Bell. So do we trust someone at Pick 25? Like say one of these guys that our writer JP talked about yesterday? You tell me Panther Nation, King Dunlap or Ereck Flowers? Your alternative is Byron Bell, so speak up or forever hold your peace. Leave your thoughts and we'll tweet them out.

Dave Gettleman said no more dollar store. The Panthers have a little money to spend, and it's time to get some new shiny toys. Should it be something for Cam, something for McDermott and the defense, or should it just be something practical for Rivera to use?

There have been few players that have become synonymous with Carolina Panthers football more so than DeAngelo Williams. Williams is the career leader in almost every rushing category for the Panthers, he is 3rd in career touchdowns, he is 1st in 100 yard rushing games, and the top receiving running back in yards and receptions. But as great as he has been over the course of his career, his production has diminished significantly.
We are at a crossroads with Williams. According to overthecap.com, the cap hit for Dengelo next season is $6.6 million. That is a very big number for a running back that rushed for 219 yards, had an average yards per carry of 3.5 yards, and scored 0 touchdowns. So will DeAngelo Williams be willing to take a pay cut and to take a reduced role or is it time to part ways with Williams?

The Carolina Panthers began their off season yesterday. Now the rampant speculation and conjecture begins. One matter that is long overdue for resolution is the Greg Hardy situation.
Hardy has been on the commissioner's exempt list for domestic violence allegations filed this past summer. This has prevented Hardy from playing in all but one game this season, while collecting a whopping $13 million dollars. He will finally have his day in court February 9. The Carolina Panthers have suffered yet another setback. On Tuesday, DT Star Lotulelei, broke a bone in his foot during practice and has been declared out for the remainder of the playoffs. Lotulelei has been vital in the defensive resurgence at the end of year by the Panthers, without his presence on the inside, can Carolina win in Seattle?

The rookie has struggled late in the season. He's had numerous drops and simply not been a large factor in the offense. If Carolina is to win Saturday, Benjamin will need to show up.
