Should that eliminate him from first round contention? pic.twitter.com/SiRbvTfKSZ
Draft surprises happen! Many thought Josh Allen would go #1 overall in 2018, but college standout Baker Mayfield leapfrogged to #1 in what seemed like a game of money ball by the Cleveland Browns. It’s been a joke that Carolina could stun the world by picking an outside-the-box player like Anthony Richardson or be lured by the traditional comps that Will Levis provides. Levis will be a 24-year-old rookie, and Todd McShay believes he could benefit from sitting for a year and developing.
Adding to the uncertainty surrounding Will Levis' potential as a draft pick is the fact that he has not been popular among Panthers fans. Many have voiced concerns about his ability to perform at the NFL level, with some going so far as to describe him as a player who 'looks good in a football uniform, but isn't really good at football.' These concerns have been further exacerbated by reports that Panthers owner David Tepper likes Levis as a prospect, raising questions about whether the team might take a chance on him despite his lack of popularity among fans.
Levis isn’t really in the conversation as a potential #1 overall pick. If it happened, it would be insane, but that insanity would pale in comparison to his eating bananas with the peel on or putting mayonnaise in his coffee. Whether these are schticks or not, they are real red flags that make me cringe at the thought of Levis anywhere near Bank of America.
