Panthers "still in talks" with DJ Chark, but are "letting it play out."

“Everything we have done has been to support that position [incoming rookie quarterback], General Manager Scott Fitterer noted in his press conference highlighting the 2023 free agency period. Fitterer spoke highly of the addition of Adam Thielen and Hayden Hurst. When asked if DJ Chark could still be in the mix, Fitterer said, “We got to let it play out. There are still in talks, but we got play out.”

Carolina has clearly made a concerted effort to build a squad that a rookie quarterback could thrive. They aren’t ready to downshift from the sounds of it, but are still open to pursuing Chark.
