Chris Tabor Hired as Panthers Special Teams Coach
/The Carolina Panthers have hired Chris Tabor as their new special teams coordinator. Tabor has spent the last four years in Chicago, coaching what has arguably been their best and most improved unit. For the past four years, Chicago has had a special teams player named to the Pro Bowl. Tabor spent seven years as special teams coordinator in Cleveland, surviving multiple coaching regimes. His successful stint in Chicago ended as they cleaned house and hired Matt Eberflus, former Colts defensive coordinator. The Bears seemingly want to get back to their defensive identity that has been so associated with their team’s historical success.
Tabor signed a three-year deal with Carolina. The Bears finished 9th in Rick Gosselin's Special Teams Rankings, and Tabor has coached three Pro Bowl returners, Cordarelle Patterson, Tarik Cohen, and most recently Jakeem Grant.
