Christian McCaffrey Placed on Injured Reserve Ending His Season Again

News just broke that the Panthers placed running back Christian McCaffrey on injured reserve, again. McCaffrey suffered an ankle injury against the Miami Dolphins in the second quarter. As we looked at CMC stretching his ankle almost nonchalantly, it appeared that the injury was mild. He would be seen leaving the field later in a walking boot. Rhule in his Monday morning press conference stated that he expected McCaffrey to return in the second half of the game, but they just couldn’t make it happen. Reports, however, indicate that McCaffrey will once watch the final games of the season, in which each week becomes more and more meaningless, from the sidelines.

McCaffrey has only played 10 games over the past two seasons. After signing a mega-contract extension, McCaffrey has had a litany of injuries, from this shoulder to his hamstring, to now his ankle. The once durable running back now faces another season lost to injury and a budding narrative that he has become injury-prone.
