Carolina Panthers Meet With WR Zay Jones

Carolina has been trying to address and get improvements in the slot receiver role this off season and could possibly address it again in the upcoming draft. The Panthers and new wide receivers coach Lance Taylor worked out ECU star wide receiver Zay Jones in Greenville, NC earlier this week.

Jones has shot up draft boards following a great Senior Bowl practice week while following up with a great performance in the game. Once he had people's attention, he then impressed more in the combine with a 4.46-40 yard dash. Many expected  him to be in the 4.5's.

Jones played nearly every receiver spot during his tenure at East Carolina. Which played a big role in able to break the NCAA all-time career reception record and single season reception record this past season. His versatility at receiver could be a big asset for Carolina.

"The Panthers are showing great interest," Jones said Friday. "I had the opportunity to work out for them and hopefully hear good things from them. But other than that, I'm just going to keep doing what I do best, go out here on this Pro Day, perform well, and we'll see where it goes from there." (Per @HTC247)

Jones is expected to have a lot of NFL coaches at his Pro Day in Greenville, NC next week. Be sure to follow @TrippMorgan6, and @Cat_Chronicles for news from the event.
