"New" Panther Speaks- "They're Trying To Go Back To The Super Bowl."

Captain Munnerlyn is officially back with the Panthers as of this morning and spoke on how he made it back, why, and what he looks forward to. Here are the highlights.

Captain Munnerlyn cites weather as a big factor in returning to CLT -- "and seeing a roster that was ready to win."

Captain Munnerlyn said he looked at moves the Panthers were making in FA and thought, "OK, they're trying to go back to the Super Bowl."

Captain Munnerlyn was in Charles Johnson's box at BoA for NFC title game vs Cardinals. Said "city was on fire" for Panthers' Super Bowl run.

Munnerlyn also faced questions regarding his comments on the Panthers being "front runners" last season. He said he was just "talking a little noise." He was also asked about his criticism of Devin Funchess last season not "being all that good." 

However, Munnerlyn says he might have to talk to Devin Funchess, whom he singled out. Says he wants best for Funchess b/c he's his teammate.

That competitiveness may be some of the reason why Captain is back. After the loss of Josh Norman, there wasn't much chirping going on in practice. You may remember the Norman-Newton scuffle prior to the big 2015 season's Super Bowl run. Munnerlyn also said Charles Johnson, Thomas Davis, and Luke Kuechly all played a role in recruiting him back to Charlotte.

Julius Peppers is expected to meet with the media sometime this week.
