On the Line: Falcons at Panthers
/C3 On the Line series bets the Carolina Panthers line and discusses the stakes of the game in the context of the Panthers season. CarolinaCatChronicles.com. On the Line is not betting advice, but a means for football discussion.
Falcons -1 (47 O/U)
It’s a sad day when the division champs, who have a near similar record, are dogs in their own house. The Vault is being looted right in front of our eyes. The Falcons are coming off a hard fought battle with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who frankly have been terrible. The Panthers limped home after an embarrassing defeat on the road against the Eagles, which really was just the capstone to an embarrassing week. Thus are the grounds for this spread, and really just an ugly match-up, in an uglier division.
Here’s a look at what’s On the Line for the Carolina Panthers.
All Bets Are In:
Professor’s Bet: Falcons -1 (Taking the Over)
There’s a lot on the line, but really who cares at this point. It sounds jaded, frankly, because I am. The Panthers have squandered away what was a real opportunity to establish a lead in the NFC South over a bad division. It wouldn’t have been pretty, but game after game, Carolina has chosen not to compete. On the field, in the division, it’s all the same. Right now, I wouldn’t take the Panthers to cover anything, especially Julio Jones. I hope I’m wrong, but give me the Falcons.
Falcons 31-21
Justin Raymond’s Bet: Panthers -1 (Taking the Under)
This is a tough year for the Carolina Panthers. As a fan, you want to pick your team to win but it is not easy to do. I will be at the game this Sunday and I think that I will bring the Panthers some luck. The Falcons and the Panthers are in the bottom of the NFC and they both still have a chance to win the NFC South. This game matters but which team will show up? I really think that the Panthers will get the win the at home. They can’t really be this bad right? I expect this game to be sloppy on both sides and that the Panthers will win the end with a field goal.

Mel Mayock: Panthers +1 (over 47 is the only call with these defenses)
This season has turned ugly. The Panthers so need a bye and need some good fortune. On Tuesday I predicted a Falcons blow out. But my optimism is returning. Not real sure why other than my love for the possibilities. It is possible that the Panthers walk out Sunday in First Place. Here’s a couple of reasons why: Trai Turner and Stiki Wiki. Talent returns and so will the Ws. Go Panthers!
