Execution Last Week:

The Seahawks had 463 yards of total offense in their first game after the Percy Harvin trade, so his absence hasn’t affected the offense in the slightest, but is much harder to replicate his home-run ability on special teams. Russell Wilson is or already has developed into one of the league’s elite QBs as he became the first QB in NFL history last week to throw for 300 yards and run for 100 or more in the same game. Wilson led 3 consecutive long TD drives late in the second half, causing Rams Head Coach Jeff Fisher to call a fake punt-pass on his own 18 yard line (which was successful) rather than punt the ball back to the Seahawks’ offense.

Execution Last Week:

Fair to good - the game was lost on special teams trickery by the Rams, which the Seahawks weren’t ready for.

Coaching:

Last week - fair to poor. The offense and defense played well enough to win the game in the second half after a slow start, but special teams let them down by allowing multiple trick plays to succeed.

 The personnel the Seahawks have on defense allows them to open up the defensive playbook but the defense is more of a man-coverage pressure defense as opposed to the Tampa-2 zone scheme the Panthers run. Seattle has the athletes in the secondary that Carolina lacks, so they can get away with more mistakes or poor defensive calls matched up with the offensive play called than most teams.
