Get To Know Ryan Delaire as the Panthers Part Ways with Cole
As you may have heard by now, the Panthers have parted ways with No. 91 Colin Cole and have signed Ryan Delaire off of the Washington Redskins Practice Squad.
I do love Colin Cole's story. He is a guy that was out of the league and was living at Lake Norman. He wasn't done with football so he picked up the phone and called the Panthers and asked for a work out. That is impressive and I hope we see him again. But the fact of the matter is he is 35 and if DG can get a more productive player that is 22, he will do it. It is part of the business as Colin explains, and the Panthers may not be done as BBR points out:
Now for a few tidbits on newly signed Ryan Delaire. He was a UDFA that was originally signed by the Bucs and cut at the end of Training Camp. On Sept. 7 he was signed by the Redskins to their Practice Squad. He is 6'4 and 265 lbs. that has a nose for getting after the QB. He had 11 sacks for Towson and three batted balls with eight QB pressures. Looks like a situational pass-rusher to me. Let's see what he can do as we know the Panthers have to get a pass-rush going and perhaps Ryan helps. This fan hopes so.
