Panthers OTAs....A Hill of Beans? The Social Media Roundup
It was exciting to see Twitter abuzz with Panthers in action, even if the access was somewhat limited and without the pads. Can we please get one of the news outlets to Meerkat the drills for us. I can't see how that's against NFL media policies, since it wouldn't be archived. It has to be less invasive than recorded footage. Anyway, special thanks to the Panthers media department and various Panthers news outlets for the snapshots we got into today's practice. Us fans are hungry, and finally got to eat on social media today.
So what's the word coming out of the first OTA that the media was able to attend?
Cam is looks sharp, healthy, and is playing loose and excited. He's a guy that always looks like he is just happy to play football.
We've been warned about the hype surrounding Stephen Hill. I've been excited about this guy for sometime, and I really think he can contribute. Turns out he had a good day.
Ted Ginn, Jr. looked smooth. He's had chemistry with Cam in the past, and he looks as if he feels at home with Carolina.
Offensive line is still the question, but it appears that Michael Oher is feeling good, the Panthers working Jonathan Martin pretty hard, and somehow Chandler is still pretty high on the depth chart. Likely this is only temporary, as we expect Daryl Williams to move into the second team right tackle soon.
They did look jolly though....
Some of the fan favorites didn't participate because of injury: Kelvin Benjamin, Bene' Benwikere, and Gary Peters. All three nursing minor hamstring injuries.
Kelvin Benjamin looks enormous. He's growing into that man body, and that is scary. He's going to look like a defensive end with the pads on.
Secondary struggled today, and it's unclear of why. Didn't hear about Josh Norman at all.
Frank Alexander has some making up to do for last season's absence. He better perform or he can show himself the door from what it sounds like.
