C3 Mock 3.0: 57-64
Draft week is here, and C3’s Mock Draft 3.0 is here. This version takes is our final version and is our predictions of what we think will happen. Smokewagon is back making his picks along with me in the First Round. We each give insight as to why we think each one makes sense. As usual, we look at some of these selections from a Panthers Fan point of view, but no matter who you are a fan of, take a look and let us know your thoughts. Top 15 talent before tearing his ACL, so the Panthers get two ACL guys between Gurley in the first and Ogbuehi in the second. Sure, I’ll catch heat for this. But both Gurely and Ogbuehi are players that may need a little time to make an impact, but they are both value picks and long term, Panther fans will thank Gettleman for having the foresight to pull this off. Ogbuehi had some bad games in 2014, but is in great shape now and has all the tools.
The Ravens visited with a lot of Corners during the pre draft process and Rowe was one of them. He is 6’1/ 205 lbs and runs a 4.45 40. Good ball skills and isn’t afraid to hit. He’s going to be a real good player.
Julius Thomas cashed in in Miami. The TE cutting up the seam and exposing LBs that can’t cover is a central part of what make the Bronco’s so good. Maxx Williams is a big target at 6’5/250 lbs (Cam Newton Big) and ran a solid 4.79 at the Combine. If Thomas isn’t back, look for this to be the pick.
With the glaring need in the backfield, the Cowboys take the best available RB in Duke Johnson. Short but not small, Johnson will thrive behind this Offensive Line and I’ll draft him in the second round of my Fantasy draft. Miami’s All-Time leading rusher will look good in Big D.
The Colts are in desperate need of a FS and Randall has been shooting up their draft board. I’ve even hear he is in play in the First Round for them. At 5’11/196 he is good but not ideal size. But is fast for a FS at 4.46. I see this as a good spot for him.
With AJ Hawk gone, this is the perfect selection. Anthony is 6’3/243 and had 90 tackles last season. I love how he plays with urgency. He will look really good playing alongside Matthews and Peppers.
Max Unger is gone and Russell Wilson (being short) needs someone to protect him from getting pressure up the middle. Marpet may be a surprise pick, but Seattle tends to do that. Marpet is a tough nosed guy that is similarly sized to Unger. You heard it here first.
The World Champs look to continue to bolster that Defense and with Vince Wilfork’s departure, they turn to the big fella out of Washington St. He is a run-stuffer that can fit in right away and help the Defense from taking a step back.
